Kate Black, M.S., LPC, LPCMH, NCC
Kate Black, the founder and Director of Winner’s Circle Center, Inc., is a National Board-Certified Counselor and Licensed Professional Counselor of Mental Health in both Pennsylvania and Delaware. She is also certified with EAGALA (Equine Assisted Growth & Learning Association) as an Equine-Assisted Psychotherapist and Equine Specialist, and she is a Pennsylvania Certified School Counselor for grades K-12. Kate has extensive experience in the needs and challenges of Special Education students and navigating the PA Public School system. Learning to ride at the age of 2, Kate was involved in Pony Club, show-jumping and foxhunting prior to becoming a professional jockey, racing Thoroughbreds in the tri-state area and Florida during the 1990’s. Kate’s combined passion of horses and counseling brought about Winner’s Circle Center, Inc. Kate is a firm believer that animals can often help unlock the potential within each individual and help us find the solutions we need to improve our lives.

Meghan Wissler, M.S., LPC
Meghan is the Assistant Director of Winner’s Circle Center Inc., and a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Pennsylvania. Meghan’s journey at Winner’s Circle began as a bachelor’s level intern in the Fall of 2017. Meghan officially joined the team in January of 2018 and remained on staff throughout the completion of her Master’s program. Meghan graduated from Millersville University in May of 2021 with her Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology. Having been employed in both inpatient and outpatient mental health settings, Meghan has gained experience working with numerous individuals with various needs. Meghan appreciates and leans into the art of experiential growth and learning, believing that there are opportunities for positive change with every encounter.

Megan Caldwell is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and has been practicing for 10+ years in either NJ or PA. Megan has an extensive background working with trauma survivors in both individual and group settings. Because trauma can impact so many areas of life, Megan acquired strong advocacy and educational skills to assist families manage child protective services, court systems and social service agency requirements. Megan is also dedicated to the development and growth of programs which support underserved populations. Since relocating to Pennsylvania, Megan specializes in assisting teens and tweens feel better about themselves as they tease out the various stressors that impact their lives. Megan has long believed in the transformative power of genuine connection and working on the farm provides many opportunities for this!

Megan Caldwell, LCSW
Kiley values the process of healing and growth that takes place through the power of the therapeutic alliance. In the therapy setting, Kiley strives to provide an authentic space that allows clients to understand their capabilities to transcend them into their full potential. Kiley received her Bachelor’s degree in psychology and Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Millersville University of Pennsylvania. Kiley is actively pursuing licensure in the state of Pennsylvania. Kiley’s experience within the mental health field has given her the opportunity to work on life skill development with adults, in addition to therapeutic services with children and young adults. Outside of her career, Kiley enjoys crocheting, playing games, and spending time with her animals.
Kiley Bartusek, M.S.
Emily Pope graduated with their Master's in Clinical Psychology from Millersville University. They are currently working towards becoming a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Pennsylvania. Once licensed, Emily hopes to specialize in working with those in the LGBT+ community and aiding in Equine assisted therapy. Growing up on a farm, Emily has been around animals all their life and involved themselves in 4-H, Pennsylvania Amateur Horseman’s Association, and other equine activities. When not on the farm, Emily believes in the therapeutic aspects of Table-Top Role Playing games and video games to help individuals learn about communication, teamwork, and narrative exploration.
Emily Pope, M.S.
Elise interned at Winner's Circle Center beginning in January 2022 and loved her experience so much that she jumped at the chance to stay! Elise is a master’s-level clinician who has worked with children and teens in the clinical setting since 2018, focusing on behavioral, social, and emotional challenges. Elise was born on a farm and fully embraces the power of utilizing animals in the therapeutic environment to improve her clients' experience. The light of Elise's life is her 11-year-old miniature dachshund, Liesel, who sometimes makes special visits to the Winner's Circle Farm!
Elise Klingaman, M.S.
Heather received her Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from West Chester University. Her professional career began as a special education teacher, teaching at an alternative school. It was there that she discovered her passion for supporting at-risk children and adolescents as they navigate complex emotional and behavioral challenges. Her clinical education continued when Heather was trained in Equine Assisted Therapy with the Natural Lifemanship Institute. Heather utilizes a person-centered, trauma-informed approach in her counseling, integrating various therapeutic modalities, tailored to support each client’s unique needs. She has experience working with children and adolescents with a wide variety of emotional and behavioral challenges, as well as those navigating the foster or juvenile justice systems. Outside of her professional life, Heather spends her free time horseback riding through beautiful Lancaster County, and tending to the menagerie of animals that she brings home. Heather is committed to creating a warm and supportive environment where clients feel heard and empowered on their journey towards healing and growth.
Heather Looney, M.S., NLT-1
Kelsey is a current graduate student in Salisbury University’s MSW Program. With a bachelors degree in Psychology, she strives to provide a safe space to anyone looking for one. After interning in the Fall of 2023, Kelsey was given the opportunity to be an official member of the WCC family, and she couldn’t be any more grateful for such an uplifting environment! While still pursuing an education in the helping profession, she learns the most from her fellow co-workers. Kelsey is learning the ropes of equine therapy as well as traditional therapeutic services and looks forward to continuing her professional experience at Winners Circle Center.
Kelsey Novick, B.A.
Carlee graduated with a B.A. in Psychology and is currently pursuing an M.Ed. in School Counseling at Millersville University. She interned at Winner’s Circle Center beginning in September 2023 and since then has joined the team. She has worked with kids in a variety of capacities and is excited to continue her work here on the farm. Carlee values the human-animal bond and wants to integrate animal interactions in her work moving forward. Her goal is to become a school counselor and utilize canine assisted therapy in her work. In her free time, Carlee enjoys being active, fishing, and spending time with family and friends.
